And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
This weekend is Remembrance Sunday, an opportunity to reflect and remember those who gave their lives fighting for our country. Many wear a poppy as a mark of respect and to raise money for families affected by war. Others choose not to wear one because they feel the symbol has become political or glorifies war. Either way, it is a time to give thanks to those who sacrificed themselves for us.
As Christians, we partake in Holy Communion – a symbolic reminder of how Jesus sacrificed His life for the whole world. Whether you choose to do this weekly or monthly, with bread or a wafer, wine or juice, it is an important act of remembrance that reminds us what has been accomplished through Christ.
For our daily devotional series, Start Your Day with TBN UK, Pastor Anna Mason recorded a message about the importance of remembering where our salvation comes from, and to be mindful of this whenever we take communion:
Why not share this thought with someone today?
