Avoiding the Darkness

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”
1 John 1:5

You might have noticed the Halloween decorations filling up our shops and streets. To some, October 31st is a bit of fun for our children, and to others it is a celebration of occult themes and practices. However, as Christians we are called to share about our faith in Jesus, the Light of the World, as He has the power to dispel the darkness that surrounds people struggling with depression, illness, and addiction.

Last year, we recorded an interview with worship leader and revivalist, Jenny Weaver, who shared her testimony of discovering Jesus and turning her back on a life of participating in witchcraft, drugs, and self-harm, to now running a ministry mentorship programme:

Perhaps your church is hosting a Light Party as an alternative youth activity this week, or maybe you can use this season as an opportunity to share with someone about why you choose not take part in this particular festival.
