Coming from very humble beginnings, Victor Thompson’s journey with music began early, with his participation in church choirs showcasing his innate passion and talent for singing. This early exposure to music set the stage for his future accomplishments. In 2017, Thompson demonstrated his vocal talents on a national stage as a contestant on Season 2 of The Voice Nigeria. Subsequently, he gained recognition on the internet for his profound and spontaneous worship sessions shared on YouTube, which have millions of views and have become a vessel through which God’s presence is felt by many around the world.
In TBN UK’s Conversation with Victor Thompson, Victor tells us how he was inspired to start the worship sessions after firstly doing some worship song covers. However, it wasn’t long before he desired to take people further in their relationship with God with a much longer time in fellowship. He shares, “I’ve never been fame driven, it’s been always living a life of impact. Like I want to go through life, I want to go through your life and leave imprints and leave marks.” He continues, “I saw a lot of people were finding it difficult to keep up with the Sunday (church) routine… and during the weekdays Monday to Saturday they were just there….” Victor strongly encourages us to just play the sessions at any time of the day and see what the Holy Spirit does and experience God’s presence. “You know, I just wanted to invade people’s homes… that was the idea, that was the vision behind it. Just enter into homes, give peace and sparkle fire.”
